AOC tells New Yorkers to ‘pull up’ to Alabama during rally speech behind bulletproof glass

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., is taking heat from southern conservatives after she delivered a fiery speech in Montgomery, Alabama, last week, demanding that northern progressives "pull up to the South."

Speaking at the "All Roads Lead to The South" rally May 16, the prominent "Squad" member claimed the U.S. was not a true democracy until the 1960s when the Voting Rights Act was passed, and took direct aim at the Supreme Court, accusing the high court under Chief Justice John Roberts of being "part of that long history of regression and repression in America."

Ocasio-Cortez then issued a highly controversial call to action, demanding that "the North" travel to red states like Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Tennessee and Mississippi to fight what she described as political injustice.

She doubled down on social media following the event, writing, "If you're not from these states, it's time to pull up."

Her rhetoric was quickly slammed by conservatives on social media, with many pointing out the irony of the congresswoman urging people to "pull up" while she stood heavily protected during her speech behind bulletproof glass.

Conservative podcaster Todd Spears went viral with a TikTok reaction video that racked up 1 million views, mocking Ocasio-Cortez's security setup.

"[Pull up] and do what? Help us get the boat off the trailer, like cut the grass, track a deer in the woods?" Spears said. "Roll up and do what exactly? Because you're standing behind, like, pope glass in your own hometown. You come down here starting that s---, you better bring a tank. That's not a good idea. You stay where you're at."

Spears also criticized the divisive nature of her remarks, writing in the video caption that "AOC talking about the North 'rolling up' on the South and Alabama, like this is still the 1860s, is wild."

"Maybe politicians should spend less time trying to divide Americans and more time fixing the mess we already have," he added.

Another TikTok creator, Kei Bennett, whose video garnered more than 800,000 views, warned Ocasio-Cortez's supporters not to take the bait.

"I want to issue a stern warning so you do not take her advice and pull up on Alabama," Bennett said, jokingly citing local dangers ranging from wild hogs and bayou gators to locals who "will not hesitate to unite and get you the f--- up out of here."

Bennett, who has more than half a million followers on the platform, warned the congresswoman's followers that "down here in the South we don't call cops, we call coroners," adding, "Stay your a-- up there, leave us alone. We ain't bothering nobody."

Ocasio-Cortez's office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

The New York Knicks took a commanding 3-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals on Saturday as the franchise eyes its first NBA Finals berth since 1999.

Jalen Brunson scored 30 points to lead New York to a 121-108 win over Cleveland, while Mikal Bridges added 22 as the Knicks never trailed in Game 3.

New York is the seventh team in NBA history to win at least 10 straight during a postseason run. The last team to do it was the Boston Celtics, who also went on a 10-game run on their way to the 2024 title.

All but one of the Knicks’ wins have been by double digits, with an average margin of victory of 22.5 points.

Cavaliers star Donovan Mitchell finished with 23 points in 38 minutes, while teammate James Harden added 21. Cleveland shot 12 of 41 from 3-point range and 12 of 19 from the foul line.

Cleveland rallied and tied it at 50-all on a jumper by Harden before the Knicks countered with a 10-1 run. They went into halftime with a 60-54 advantage.

Music superstar Taylor Swift was courtside for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals on Saturday night alongside fiancé and Ohio native Travis Kelce.

Swift and Kelce, who recently signed a three-year, $54 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, took their seats in Rocket Arena shortly before the opening tip.

With the Cavs trailing 91-82 at the end of the third quarter, Kelce and Swift were shown on the arena’s giant scoreboard. Fans cheered wildly as Kelce showed off his team cap and wine-and-gold shirt.

Game 4 is set for Monday night at Rocket Arena in Cleveland. The series will return to Madison Square Garden for Game 5 on Wednesday, if necessary.

Meanwhile, in the Western Conference, the San Antonio Spurs will host the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 4 on Sunday night. Oklahoma City enters the matchup with a 2-1 series lead.

NASCAR's Truck Series and O'Reilly Autoparts Series honor Kyle Busch with moments of silence at Charlotte

The NASCAR world is paying tribute to Kyle Busch this weekend, and that includes some classy ones from two series in which the late driver had a lot of success.

While Busch — who passed away Thursday after "severe pneumonia [that] progressed into sepsis" — had been a full-time driver in NASCAR’s top series, the Cup Series, for more than 20 years, he still competed occasionally in both the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and the Craftsman Truck Series.

He was especially known for his dominance in the Truck Series, winning 69 of his 184 races, and at one point owned a team. In fact, the final win of Busch’s career came just under a week before his death in a Truck Series race at Dover.

On Friday, the Truck Series was in Charlotte as part of the Coca-Cola 600 weekend for a race that Busch was supposed to take part in.

Unfortunately, the race never got underway and was postponed until Saturday morning and then again to Saturday night.

The O'Reilly Autoparts Series, which Busch raced in many times and won many times during his career, also took a moment to remember him before their race at Charlotte on Saturday.

That race was also suspended due to rain.

There will be some heavy hearts on Sunday when the Coca-Cola 600, the NASCAR Cup Series' longest race of the year, gets started at 6 p.m. ET.

Iranian national team to train in Mexico during World Cup after base camp switch, federation leader says

As next month’s highly anticipated World Cup approaches, participating nations are finalizing base camps across the tournament’s three host countries to serve as training headquarters during the competition.

The U.S., Canada and Mexico are co-hosting this year’s World Cup.

However, Iran’s national team — which has faced heightened scrutiny leading up to this summer’s World Cup — recently learned it will not be based in the United States once the tournament begins. According to the president of Iran’s soccer federation, the team will instead establish its base camp in Mexico.

Mehdi Taj, president of the Iran Football Federation, announced the decision Saturday in a statement released by the federation’s media relations office. FIFA did not immediately confirm the move.

Iran had been scheduled to train in Tucson, Arizona, but a move has been a possibility because of uncertainty surrounding the war in the Middle East and security concerns. Officials at Tucson’s Kino Sports Complex declined to comment.

WORLD CUP TEAMS FINALIZE US BASE CAMPS AS HOST CITIES PREPARE FOR GLOBAL CROWDS

According to Iran's soccer federation, the team's base will now switch to south of the California border to Tijuana, Mexico.

"All team base camps for the countries participating in the World Cup must be approved FIFA," Taj said in his statement. "Fortunately, following the requests we submitted and the meetings we held with FIFA and World Cup officials in Istanbul, as well as the webinar meeting we had yesterday in the Tehran with the respected FIFA secretary general, our request to change the team’s base from the United States to Mexico was approved."

Iran plays Group G games at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, against New Zealand on June 15 and Belgium six days later, then faces Egypt on June 26 in Seattle. The federation said Tijuana’s relatively close proximity to the Los Angeles area will benefit the team and the new location "includes all training facilities, gym, private restaurant and everything else the team needs."

Iran’s men’s national team, also commonly referred to as Team Melli, is set to appear in its fourth consecutive World Cup. The team has never advanced beyond the group stage.

Iran’s federation said moving the base camp will resolve potential visa issues since the team will enter the U.S. through Mexico. The president said that the team "may even be able to travel to and from Mexico using Iran Air flights."

The World Cup opens June 11 and concludes July 19 with the Final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Jack Osbourne is done dealing with body shamers.

The 40-year-old media personality took to Instagram to respond to articles body-shaming him for being "grossly underweight" and calling him "sick," saying "I cannot believe I’m having to actually make this f---ing video."

"I have lost no weight since I got out of the jungle doing 'I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!' six months ago," he explained. "I’ve been the same f---ng weight. The only difference is I shaved my beard and opted for a creepy mustache. That’s the only f---ing difference."

He went on to share that he's been on a weight loss journey for a number of years, and has been "consistently losing weight for the last three and a half years."

He later added that he has been "brutalized by the press about being overweight" his entire life and cannot believe that even though he got "down to a healthy weight," he has been "criticized even more," telling the journalists and other body shamers that they can "get f--ked."

Jack is not the only Osbourne who has dealt with people commenting on their body, as his sister, Kelly Osbourne, received backlash after her appearance at the BRIT Awards. After attending the award show, social media users began commenting on her body, with one writing, "Ditch the Ozempic, eat a burger."

"Looks like a dead body… she's tooooo thin and fragile.… Looks like she's going to see her dad soon."

Kelly posted screenshots of the negative comments, writing "Literally can't believe how disgusting some human beings truly are," over the screenshot.

"This is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something, kicking me while I'm down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most," she wrote on her Instagram Stories.

She added that commenting on another person's body doesn't show strength, but rather "a profound absence of compassion and character."

Donald Trump Jr. and Bettina Anderson celebrated their wedding on Saturday in an intimate ceremony on a private island in the Bahamas, surrounded by close family and friends, according to multiple reports.

About 40 guests attended the wedding, including Trump Jr.’s five children and his siblings Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump and Tiffany Trump, along with their spouses.

Anderson’s family and a small circle of close friends also attended.

The president’s statement came one day after the couple legally married in Palm Beach, Florida.

Anderson, 39, is a philanthropist and model who has become a familiar presence at Trump family events in Palm Beach and Mar-a-Lago over the past year.

Earlier this year, she celebrated her bridal shower at Mar-a-Lago alongside several members of the Trump family ahead of the wedding festivities.

That's why one of Busch's NASCAR numbers — the one I'd argue is most iconic — will make an appearance in the 110th Running of the Indianapolis 500.

Busch had a bunch of numbers across NASCAR's three national series, but in the Cup Series, he used No. 5, No. 18 and No. 8.

For many fans, No. 18 is the number they associate with Busch, as he used it for 15 years, including during both of his championship seasons.

Of course, the numbers are typically trademarked, so as Stern reported, the idea — which came from Fox Sports IndyCar commentator Townsend Bell — required getting in touch with Joe Gibbs Racing.

Busch never raced in the Indy 500 or in the IndyCar Series; however, he did have a lot of success at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in NASCAR.

His brother, retired NASCAR driver and former Cup Series champ, Kurt Busch, attempted double duty by competing in both the Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on the same day in 2014.

It's a heck of a tribute from the folks at Dale Coyne Racing with an assist from JGR.

Grosjean will start Sunday's race in 24th, which means he has some ground to make up, but anything can happen in the Indy 500.

Jemele Hill tries using the race card to defend Abdul Carter for criticizing Jaxson Dart and Trump

One would be hard-pressed to find a more intellectually lazy response to the Jaxson Dart-President Trump-Abdul Carter "controversy" than the one former television host Jemele Hill just offered.

First, the background:

Dart, the New York Giants' starting quarterback, introduced President Donald Trump before a speech in Suffern, New York, on Friday.

"Big Blue Nation, it’s a pleasure to be here. I got to start this off with a ‘Go Big Blue,’" Dart said.

"What an honor, what a privilege it is to be here, and without further ado, I’m grateful, I’m honored, I’m pleased to introduce the 45th and 47th President of the United States of America, President Donald J. Trump."

Dart's teammate, Abdul Carter, reposted the video and appeared to criticize the introduction.

"Thought this s—t was AI, what we doing man," Carter wrote.

Any honest observer can see the situation for what it is: A player introduced the president at an event in the city where he plays, and one of his teammates publicly criticized him for it.

Yet Jemele Hill somehow turned the episode into something else entirely.

On Saturday, Hill defended Carter after former Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes explained why publicly targeting a teammate is frowned upon inside an NFL locker room.

"The locker room is a sacred place because it brings together everyone from all walks of life and beliefs for one common goal," Tynes posted on X. "Calling a teammate out publicly for his political views and to get attention is nasty work."

Hill responded by framing Tynes' comment as an attempt to silence Carter.

"So Jaxson Dart gets to publicly express his political beliefs, but Abdul Carter doesn’t? If this is about locker room sanctity and leadership, is it a good idea for the face of the franchise to attend a political rally for a president that is considered to be hugely divisive?" Hill asked.

Of course, Hill then worked the race card into her argument:

"Let’s not do that thing where we’re trying to pretend this isn’t what it looks like," Hill added. "Abdul Carter is a black man and a Muslim and given the things that Trump has said about/done when it comes to both groups, it’s fair and also not surprising that he has a problem with it."

Uh, what?

First, describing this as two teammates merely "expressing political beliefs" is not accurate.

Dart did not make a political statement. He introduced the sitting President of the United States at an event. He didn't endorse Trump or advocate for legislation. His actions were neither political nor partisan, but patriotic. There's a difference.

By Hill's logic, every athlete who shook hands with Barack Obama at the NBA All-Star Game in February also made a political declaration. Note: She had no issue with that.

More importantly, the criticism of Carter has little to do with his apparent dislike of Trump. As Tynes noted, the issue is that Carter chose to embarrass a teammate publicly rather than handle the matter privately.

He could have texted Dart. Called him. Spoken to him face-to-face. Instead, he posted about it on social media, creating an avoidable distraction for the Giants heading into offseason activities and forcing the organization to deal with internal division over a holiday weekend.

Hill should understand that distinction better than most. She has worked at several major media companies. If employee X appears alongside a political figure, employee Y does not suddenly receive a license to condemn that colleague online.

Of course, Hill's views of employees X and Y would likely depend entirely on their skin colors and political affiliations.

That brings us to her second argument.

Hill tried to justify Carter's behavior by emphasizing that he is black and Muslim, two groups she claims Trump has targeted through his rhetoric and policies.

At this point, you likely wonder what exactly Trump has done or said negatively toward Black people and Muslims. We wondered the same thing and asked Hill that question on X. Unsurprisingly, she didn't bother to explain.

Take skin color and politics out of it. Jaxson Dart did nothing wrong. He introduced the president on his own time. He didn't make a political statement on the field, as Colin Kaepernick did. He didn't spread incendiary propaganda on social media, as other NFL players have. He simply welcomed the president onto a stage.

For all we know, Dart would have done the same if a Democrat were in office.

It was Abdul Carter who allowed his political beliefs to influence his decision-making. He is the one who turned this into a problem for the team.

As OutKick founder Clay Travis pointed out, the hypocrisy surrounding the outrage is also amusing.

"In the NFL no one Tweets if you beat a woman, but don’t you DARE speak at an event when you’re invited by the president of the United States," Travis wrote.

Indeed.

No one in the NFL tweets about the players who commit violent crimes or are arrested for reckless driving incidents, either.

Finally, Hill and Carter may want to direct some of that outrage toward another figure closely tied to the Giants organization.

Carter has openly described Giants legend Lawrence Taylor as his idol. He even requested Taylor's retired number after being drafted. What Carter may not realize is that Taylor endorsed Trump in 2024 and now serves on Trump's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition.

Awkward, no?

But seriously, how great was Jemele Hill defaulting to race once her original argument fell apart? It seems to happen every time she engages in a viral debate.

Beyond her racial idolatry, Hill has nothing of substance to add to the conversation. We saw that again, this time in her defense of Abdul Carter.

USMNT roster takes shape under Mauricio Pochettino as US prepares to host World Cup: reports

The United States — one of the World Cup’s three host nations — has reportedly finalized its 26-player roster for this summer’s highly anticipated tournament.

Although U.S. Soccer is not expected to formally announce the roster until after Memorial Day, reports citing sources say Brenden Aaronson, Mark McKenzie, Turner and Sebastian Berhalter are among the expected selections. Sebastian is the son of former USMNT coach Gregg Berhalter. Aaronson suited up for Team USA during the 2022 tournament in Qatar.

Sources also told The Athletic that Gio Reyna is expected to be included on the roster for Mauricio Pochettino’s first World Cup run as USMNT manager.

Since being sent home from the 2022 World Cup over what were described as behavioral issues, Reyna has remained one of the more polarizing figures in the U.S. player pool despite his talent. The 23-year-old logged a total of 509 minutes for Borussia Mönchengladbach this season.

As questions about Reyna’s future with the national team continued to swirl, the son of former U.S. star Claudio Reyna recently highlighted the special chance to play on the international stage.

Luna has scored four goals in 18 matches for the national team, adding to the 22 goals he has recorded over the past three seasons with Real Salt Lake.

Zavier Gozo, who plays in the MLS for Real Salt Lake, was also told he would not compete on the national team this summer.

The USMNT begins its World Cup campaign June 12 against Paraguay at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

The administrative subpoenas — called "Requests for Information," or RFI — seek financial, logistical and communications information revolving around trips the two widely bragged about making to the island nation in March with delegations of the "Nuestra América Convoy," or "Our America Convoy," from a global network of communist sympathizers, activists and influencers who brought supplies to the country's ruling Communist Party of Cuba, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The investigation is part of a broader effort by officials at Treasury, State and Justice departments to curb malign foreign influence operations inside the United States, particularly activities tied to support for political violence, extremist movements or acts the U.S. government classifies as terrorism. The scrutiny reflects growing concern among federal authorities and lawmakers over whether foreign actors and aligned organizations are attempting to shape American political discourse, mobilize activists, sow discord and normalize rhetoric that could encourage violence or undermine U.S. national security interests.

According to a Fox News Digital investigation, Singham has pumped $278 million into nonprofit groups that have pushed pro-China, pro-Cuba, anti-U.S. narratives and street protests for almost a decade, since his marriage in February 2017 to CodePink co-founder Jodie Evans, who is also being investigated for her role in the March trip. CodePink received $1.33 million from Singham after he married Evans.

In mid-March, organizations in the Singham network — from the Venceremos Brigade to People's Forum, a hub for communist causes in New York City — were leaders of the Nuestra American Convoy, which included an estimated 650 delegates from 33 countries and 120 organizations. The organizations included Democratic Socialists of America, a U.S. nonprofit that promotes Piker as a headline member.

The investigation by the Office of Foreign Assets Control is part of a broader dragnet that includes as many as 40 American citizens who joined foreign nationals, including a controversial Brazil activist, Thiago Avila, who are part of a global network of anti-U.S. Marxists, communists and socialists. Additional subpoenas are expected.

The administrative subpoenas mark a serious escalation by the Trump administration against a far-left nonprofit activist network that has spent years defending communist regimes, from Cuba to China, while presenting its work as humanitarian aid, anti-war organizing and "solidarity" with people "oppressed" by the "imperialist" U.S "colonial power."

As reported, a Fox News Digital investigation has identified 145 U.S. nonprofits and activist groups with $1 billion in collective revenues that Justice and Treasury Department officials are investigating as part of a wider influence campaign by Cuba's communist regime and other foreign actors. According to public statements, it's believed that delegation members stayed at a hotel the U.S. State Department has put on a "Cuba Restricted List," as businesses directly tied to the communist government of Cuba, designated a state sponsor of terrorism.

U.S. law imposes broad restrictions on financial transactions involving Cuba, primarily through the "Cuban Asset Control Regulations," administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Those rules generally prohibit unlicensed travel-related transactions and the export of goods or services to Cuba, with limited exceptions for journalism, humanitarian projects, educational programs and certain activities meant to support the Cuban people.

Piker, one of the most influential political streamers on Twitch, has built a massive online following with a mix of Marxist politics, anti-American commentary and inflammatory statements that have repeatedly drawn public backlash.

On March 10, Piker posted a photo of himself on Instagram with the message: "I'M GOING TO CUBA."

In an Instagram post from the trip, Singham's wife, Evans, smiled widely in Havana, wearing a red-and-white Palestinian scarf, or kefiyyeh, around her neck, while standing beside Piker, who looked seriously into the camera.

On a livestream this week, Piker said that the Justice Department's indictment of Cuban leader Raúl Castro is a "sham" with "no legal standing," designed to create a pretext for escalating U.S. pressure on the island. Piker argued that Trump is acting like a "playground bully."

Fox News Digital recently observed Piker outside his Los Angeles home escorting his dog, Kaya, outside the house for a bathroom break early one morning. Kaya, a large-breed dog that is a mix of Tibetan Mastiff, Chow Chow, and St. Bernard, has been the beloved subject of an online campaign, dubbed "Free Kaya," over allegations Piker trained Kaya with a shock collar that transmits painful stimuli as part of behavior training. At one moment, Piker silently stood over Kaya and gestured with a finger for her to return to the house after relieving herself. Later, Kaya was observed being walked and driven by a woman leaving Piker's home.

Benjamin has made her mark as an activist gadfly who stages media spectacles at Congressional hearings, defense industry trade conferences and the homes of government officials, yelling invectives, chants and slogans, branding herself as "anti-war," but actually running a pattern of messages denouncing the U.S. and uplifting communist and authoritarian regimes from the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Chinese Communist Party and the Communist Party of Cuba.

Fox News Digital recently observed Benjamin outside her colorful home in Washington, D.C., with her partner and fellow activist Tighe Barry, who accompanied her on the trip to Havana.

Piker has been criticized for saying that "America deserved 9/11," a remark he later said was poorly phrased, and for past comments about former Rep. Dan Crenshaw, R-Texas, a Navy SEAL veteran who lost an eye in Afghanistan. More recently, critics, including Rep. Ritchie Torres, D-N.Y., have accused Piker of amplifying anti-Semitic rhetoric after Oct. 7, while Piker has denied antisemitism and said his criticism is aimed at Israel, not Jews.

Piker, Benjamin, Singham, Evans and CodePink didn't respond to requests for comment.

According to sources, the Office of Foreign Assets Control is also investigating CodePink's DC Coordinator, Olivia DiNucci, a former Division I basketball star from Emerson College in Boston. Her unassuming, girl-next-door persona often gains her entry into coveted spaces that she then disrupts with loud theatrics. She joined a convoy led by the Brazilian activist, Avila.

Federal investigators are examining whether the caravan’s financing, logistics, coordination or delivery of goods crossed legal lines under U.S. sanctions law, sources said.

Legal experts told Fox News Digital that the subpoenas could determine whether prosecutors pursue a criminal case under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, known as IEEPA, or whether the matter remains a civil enforcement issue handled by the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control, which administers U.S. sanctions programs.

The Office of Foreign Assets Control can impose civil penalties under a "strict liability" standard, meaning the government does not have to prove intent. The Justice Department, by contrast, generally must show that a defendant willfully violated the law in a criminal case, often through evidence of concealment, evasion or knowing participation in prohibited transactions.

In a long livestream on Saturday, Piker interviewed another influencer, Ashley St. Clair, about having a baby with billionaire Elon Musk, railed against Trump, defended the communist leaders of Cuba and free-associated about other topics in the news, including a shooting outside the White House, decrying the chaos in America. Despite some concerns that the New York Giants might have a locker room issue on their hands between linebacker Abdul Carter and quarterback Jaxson Dart, it appears they've buried the hatchet.

On Friday, the 23-year-old quarterback out of Ole Miss, who impressed in his rookie campaign, introduced President Donald Trump at an event in Suffern, New York.

Dart led the crowd in a chant before bringing the president on stage.

Video of this was widespread on social media, but it was Dart's teammate, Carter, who had something to say about it.

That would be a big problem as Dart and Carter — a 22-year-old out of Penn State who appeared in all 17 games for the G-Men last season — are widely considered key pieces as the team works to get back to some winning ways.

The great thing about driving the pace car is that, unlike a ceremonial first pitch, which has no bearing on the game (although, how fun would it be if it did?), the pace car driver can impact the race.

So, it makes sense that you would do some practice ahead of time, and on Saturday, IndyCar shared some pictures and videos of Cignetti getting in some reps at the Brickyard.

Cignetti is getting quite the set of wheels to pace the field. The pace car for the 110th Running of the Indianapolis 500 is a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X. It has a 5.5L twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers over 1,000 hp to the rear wheels, and if that wasn't good enough, it also has an electric motor that adds another 186 hp to the front axle.

I'm not sure what Cignetti is driving day-to-day, but that's a lot of car, so it's good that he was getting some pointers from Sarah Fisher. Fisher is a former IndyCar driver with nine Indianapolis 500 appearances under her belt and has also worked for the driver as a pace car driver.

So, if there's anyone to get some pointers from, it's her.

Cignetti and the Corvette — which sports a very cool America 250 paint scheme — will lead the field on the pace laps on Sunday, with coverage beginning at 10 a.m. ET on Fox.

Gunman dead after opening fire near White House checkpoint, Secret Service says

Multiple sources confirmed to Fox News Digital the male gunman who allegedly opened fire with a pistol Saturday near the White House in Washington, D.C., and was fatally shot by the U.S. Secret Service, has been identified as Nasire Best, 21, of Maryland.

At about 6 p.m. local time, the suspect allegedly approached a Secret Service checkpoint near 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW, removed a weapon from his bag and began firing at posted officers, a Secret Service spokesperson said.

Best, who allegedly had prior encounters with the Secret Service and a history of mental health issues, fired about three shots toward the executive mansion before he was taken down by Secret Service agents, according to a senior administration official with direct knowledge of the incident.

The White House was placed on lockdown, which was later lifted.

An adult bystander on the street was shot in the exchange and their condition is unknown, the senior official said.

Secret Service agents were heard telling reporters to "get down," before the press were ushered into the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room in the West Wing.

Secret Service agents were seen on the White House grounds with their weapons drawn.

Hours before the alleged gunfire rang out, President Donald Trump announced the administration was close to finalizing a deal to end the war with Iran, noting he was in the White House Oval Office.

The president was at the White House during the incident, but was not affected, according to the Secret Service.

Caitlin Clark was a late scratch on Wednesday when the Indiana Fever hosted the Portland Fire, marking her first missed game of the season.

Indiana went on to beat the Fire 90-73, but Clark’s absence raised concerns about her availability for Friday’s matchup against the Golden State Valkyries. But those concerns proved short-lived, as Clark returned to the starting lineup and scored a team-leading 22 points to help lift Indiana to a third consecutive win.

Clark admitted that the recovery process has tested her mentally as much as it has physically.

"I think, at the end of the day, it's me and my confidence," she told reporters Friday. "Coming back from injury and having however many soft tissue injuries [in 2025] is a real mental challenge."

Clark added that her confidence can still fluctuate at times, particularly as she works through the earlier part of the season. "These are the best players in the world, and if I don't feel 100% confident in my body on Game 5 of the year, I don't know if that's really worth it in that scenario," she said.

Clark logged 32 minutes in Friday's win over Golden State, adding nine assists to her stat line to finish just shy of a double-double.

She also acknowledged the difference in physical demands compared with offseason competition.

"Yes, I played USA Basketball [this offseason], but I didn't play 32 minutes, super physical," Clark said postgame. "That's the difference for me right now, but I feel great. I think a lot of the times, it's for me the next day, understanding how my body feels and understanding that a little bit better. Obviously, your adrenaline is pumping, you don't always understand right after the game. ... Overall, I feel good. It's just continuing to take care of my body."

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart committed the grave sin of supporting President Donald Trump by simply introducing him at his rally in the Empire State on Friday.

Many liberal sports fans and media members lost their minds over it, and even Dart’s teammate and fellow first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Abdul Carter, tried to shame him, saying, "Thought this s—t was AI, what we doing man?"

One of the dumbest responses to Dart’s appearance at the rally was comparing the star quarterback to disgraced former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Kaepernick is, of course, famous for kneeling during the national anthem while playing for the San Francisco 49ers after he lost his starting job to Blaine Gabbert because of injury and poor performance. He has since become one of, if not the biggest, activist athletes of our lifetime.

One player made a scene on the field, vilified police, downplayed crime, wore a Fidel Castro T-shirt in the locker room, disrespected law enforcement and the military, and wore socks depicting cops as pigs during practice. The other introduced a sitting president at a rally in the state where he plays football. These two men are not even in the same stratosphere. Comparing them is not even like comparing apples to oranges. It’s like comparing apples to manure.

An X user stated, "I'm old enough to remember Colin Kaepernick being run out of the NFL by a bunch of colluding owners for calling out police brutality."

First off, that is verifiably untrue. Second, let’s take a trip down memory lane and remind people why Kaepernick was benched, how he squandered every opportunity he had to play after his on-field activism and what inspired him to kneel in the first place:

Kaepernick wasn’t blackballed by the NFL. He tanked his own career. He was benched after an abysmal 2-6 start in which he barely completed half of his passes. It was only after becoming a backup that he first decided to kneel during the national anthem. His play had regressed significantly as both a passer and a running threat. They applaud Steve Kerr and Doc Rivers spewing lies about ICE kidnapping kids and murdering American citizens. The list is endless and nauseating.

Yes, keep politics out of sports. Sports are what should bring us together, regardless of political affiliation, and it should be a unifying outlet away from the heavy political climate we are immersed in on a daily basis. Speaking at a rally on your own free time as an athlete is fine by me. Will it garner backlash from the other side? Undoubtedly. Is it better than doing it in uniform? I believe so.

Trying to shame and even crucify Dart for being honored and privileged to introduce the sitting President of the United States is your First Amendment right. Go for it. But it is ludicrous to compare Dart to Kaepernick.

Formula 1 legend Alain Prost reportedly injured during robbery by masked gang in Switzerland

According to a new report out of Switzerland, four-time Formula 1 champion Alain Prost has been injured after his home was raided by a group of masked men.

Swiss outlet Blick reported that the racing legend's home in Nyon, about 25km (15.5 miles) north of Geneva, was the target of a robbery at around 8:30 a.m. local time on Tuesday.

While police have not officially released the names of the victims, they did confirm that a robbery took place and that a family was targeted.

"Several masked individuals entered the house. Once inside, they threatened the occupants and slightly injured one family member in the head, under circumstances that are still being investigated," police said in a statement, per BBC Sport.

"The perpetrators then forced another family member to open a safe before fleeing," it added.

Swiss and French police are currently working to find the perpetrators.

President Donald Trump announced on Saturday an agreement has been "largely negotiated" with Iran and several allied nations, signaling a nearing end to the controversial 84-day war.

The president wrote in a Truth Social post that following a "very good call" with leaders from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, Türkiye, Egypt, Jordan and Bahrain, the deal is nearing finalization.

"An Agreement has been largely negotiated, subject to finalization between the United States of America, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the various other Countries, as listed," Trump wrote in the post. "Separately, I had a call with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, of Israel, which, likewise, went very well."

He added final aspects and details of the deal are "currently being discussed and will be announced shortly."

Trump also indicated a key provision of the deal involves opening the Strait of Hormuz.

Chicago Cubs star Nico Hoerner did his best basketball impression, throwing the baseball between his legs to make a sensational play on a bunt.

In the top of the fifth inning of the Cubs’ 3-0 loss to the Houston Astros on Saturday afternoon at Wrigley Field, Hoerner showed his defensive prowess. Astros catcher César Salazar tried to jump on Cubs starting pitcher Colin Rea and open the inning with a bunt single on Rea’s first pitch of the frame.

Hoerner, a two-time Gold Glove winner, charged on Salazar’s bunt. Salazar runs well, which left Hoerner’s options limited after he picked up the ball with his bare hand.

Hoerner’s through-the-legs throw conjured up memories of New York Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon and Chicago White Sox Mark Buehrle, who both made plays of a similar ilk.

Colon fielded Miami Marlins first baseman Justin Bour’s weak dribbler on the first-base line and casually flipped the ball behind his back to complete the out.

Buehrle got drilled in the foot by a comebacker and the ball ricocheted into foul territory on the first-base side. He hustled over and flipped the ball with his glove through his legs to complete the out.

Like Colon and Buehrle, Hoerner’s fantastic play will be shown on highlight reels for a long time.

Unfortunately for the Cubs, Hoerner’s standout play was one of their few highlights in their loss to the Astros.

The Cubs (29-23) will look to bounce back when they play the Astros (22-31) in the final game of a three-game series on Sunday at 2:20 p.m. ET and hope to avoid the sweep.

Comedian Patton Oswalt criticized "Real Time" host Bill Maher this week over what he described as Maher’s attempts to "placate" President Donald Trump, arguing the comedian was wrong to believe he could find common ground with Trump without eventually becoming a target himself.

"The reason that Trump is turning on Bill Maher is because Bill tried to, I’m sure with good intentions, placate him and you can’t do that with him," Oswalt told SiriusXM host Dean Obeidallah, contrasting Maher's approach to notoriously anti-Trump hosts like Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert.

"Colbert and Kimmel... Trump hates them, but he hates them because they don’t love him. He wants them to love him, and then the minute they love him, he has zero respect for them because, deep down, he hates himself," he resumed.

"You just have to stick with your guns and just go, 'Yeah, this guy sucks.' In the long run, it will pay out, and anyone who does business with Trump, you would just think basic greed would make you want to defy him, because anyone that does business with him, you get destroyed!"

Trump had specifically taken aim at Maher over comments that mocked him for suggesting that China would end all hockey in Canada as the two countries deepened their economic ties.

Dust-up between Mercedes teammates in Canada Sprint shows that there's a classic title fight brewing

It's been a few years since Formula 1 introduced the Sprint format, and I was kind of surprised when I realized that until Saturday, Canada's Circuit Gilles Villeneuve had never hosted one.

It should probably join the rotation full-time because it delivered a race that showed us a title battle for the ages between Mercedes teammates Kimi Antonelli and George Russell is brewing.

The Silver Arrows locked out the front row of the grid — Russell on pole and Antonelli in P2 — for the 23-lap race, and that seemed to be thanks to a new upgrade package the team brought with them to Montreal.

Russell got a better getaway when the lights went out, but Antonelli, who has really struggled with starts, hung with him, and within a couple of laps, the two were scrapping away.

And that's when things got interesting.

Antonelli tried to make a move around the outside of Turn 1 and looked like he was ahead through the apex, but Russell came inside to take the next turn and forced Antonelli off the track.

The 19-year-old championship leader was irate and was quick to hop on the radio and let his team know how unhappy he was with his teammate.

Not long after, Antonelli tried another move and ended up cutting another corner and bouncing through the grass.

That off allowed McLaren's Lando Norris to slip by and take P2, where he stayed.

Russell ended up winning the Sprint, followed by Norris and then Antonelli.

I think the second off Antonelli had was just entering the corner too hot, and may have been because he was still fuming from the incident at Turn 1.

Speaking of which, that one seemed pretty borderline. I think you could place the blame on either driver.

And, in fact, they saw it differently themselves.

But the biggest takeaway is that both drivers are going to do whatever they can to win this championship, and that's a great thing for fans.

Not as great for the team.

In fact, team boss Toto Wolff had to give Antonelli a talking-to multiple times during the race, including once as he was pulling into the pits at the end of the race.

If any team is familiar with an intra-team battle for a championship and how that can go sideways, it's Mercedes.

Who knows if it will get as intense as the infamous 2016 title battle between Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton — which Rosberg won, but not before the two crashed into each other during the Spanish Grand Prix — but it seems like we may have just taken the first step in that direction.

Newsom declares state of emergency in Orange County as failing chemical tank nears catastrophic explosion

Emergency crews launched a high-stakes "offensive" overnight mission at a Southern California aerospace facility to neutralize an adjacent chemical tank, as the internal temperature of a failing primary tank has steadily climbed to 90 degrees Fahrenheit, prompting Gov. Gavin Newsom to declare a state of emergency Saturday and the evacuation of over 40,000 residents.

Orange County Fire Authority Incident Commander Greg Covey shared the "bad news" Saturday morning that crews who went into harm's way overnight and manually checked the failing tank's internal temperature gauge, which had been obscured from drone cameras by cooling water.

The temperature had reached 90 degrees, rising by an average of one degree per hour since it was recorded at 77 degrees on Friday morning.

Orange County Fire Authority Interim Chief T.J. McGovern and Covey previously warned there are only two catastrophic outcomes: The tank could fail and spill between 6,000 and 7,000 gallons of "very bad chemicals," or undergo "thermal runaway" and explode, potentially triggering a chain reaction with neighboring fuel and chemical tanks.

Despite the rising temperatures, officials have developed a potential third outcome to avoid disaster.

By using a heavy, continuous deluge of water, crews hope the volatile chemical will "cure" and harden at a slower rate from the outside in, similar to an ice cube.

Covey said the team is hoping the void space at the top of the tank will absorb the overpressure from the curing process, preventing an explosion.

Responders are establishing diking and damming measures to divert the potential fluid down a grade into a commercial holding area.

Newsom declared a state of emergency Saturday afternoon, allowing resources to flow to the scene.

The California Governor's Office of Emergency Services has been mobilized for more than 24 hours and state agencies are supporting impacted communities to protect public safety and assist local officials as response efforts continue, Newsom wrote in a statement on X.

The emergency began Thursday night when authorities discovered methyl methacrylate (MMA) — a volatile and flammable plastic epoxy — leaking from a storage tank at GKN Aerospace in Garden Grove, a facility that manufactures engine structures and products for commercial and military aircraft.

Firefighters initially put critical cooling measures in place and the situation was initially believed to be under control, allowing residents to temporarily return home.

The crisis severely escalated by Friday morning, and by 5 p.m. local time, crews had successfully used a "water curtain" to temporarily stabilize the temperature, buying experts time to brainstorm solutions.

"We are not giving up," Covey said Saturday morning. "We are going to do everything we can to mitigate this, protect your residences, protect our environment and get you back home."

Dr. Regina Chinsio-Kwong of the Orange County Health Care Agency said if the chemical reacts and temperatures rise, it can create a highly toxic vapor.

"No matter what happens with the situation, whether the polymer just leaks out and then just hardens, or if it does explode and there is a vapor, you are all safe as long as you are out of the zone," she continued.

Rep. Derek Tran, D-Calif., released a statement saying he is closely monitoring the situation alongside local officials.

Tran confirmed he is in contact with federal disaster relief officials, including FEMA and the EPA.

FEMA and the EPA did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's requests for comment.

Unsafe water warning issued for one of America’s most visited beach destinations

If you’re still nailing down summer vacation plans, you might want to strike some southern California beaches from your list.

Environmental non-profit group Heal the Bay ranked Santa Monica Pier among the Golden State’s most polluted beaches for the fifth year in a row.

The beaches at the Pier are some of the state's most popular tourist destinations. The landmark is "an internationally recognized icon of Southern California" that draws more than 9 million visitors each year, Pacific Park, an amusement park at Santa Monica Pier, reported.

Heal the Bay’s annual Beach Report Card tracks amounts of fecal pollution measured at ocean beaches "from sites in Mexico near Tijuana all the way up the coast through Washington."

For the second consecutive year, Santa Monica Pier came in second place on Heal the Bay’s 36th annual "Beach Bummers" list that ranks "chronic pollution from urban runoff, bacteria hotspots and aging infrastructure." Playa Blanca, in Tijuana, was ranked first.

Heal the Bay further reported that rainfall and runoff and sewage spills impact coastal waters.

Santa Monica Pier has made the Beach Bummers list for 15 of the last 21 years, despite efforts to improve the water quality.

"Upgrades from the City of Santa Monica, such as stormwater capture systems and installation of bird deterrent netting, have been implemented to reduce pollution," Heal the Bay said in its report.

"While many of these upgrades have aligned with temporary improvements to water quality, bacteria levels have since increased. These persistent problems highlight the need for sustained investment and maintenance to improve the area’s environmental health."

Storm-impacted beaches and chronic pollution sites "remain key concerns" in Santa Monica Pier, the report said. The group also said it has formed a task force with the City of Santa Monica to determine the cause of the Pier’s pollution, "which will help inform recommended solutions."

Twenty-one California beaches made Heal the Bay’s "Honor Roll List," which recognizes consistently excellent conditions. That number is down from 62 last year. Bluff Cove, Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles County took the top Honor Roll spot.

According to Heal the Bay, fecal pollution is "of particular concern because even a single exposure can result in illness."

The Environmental Protection Agency reported that swimming, diving or wading in water contaminated with fecal bacteria can result in severe infection and illness.

Areas surrounding Santa Monica Pier were included in a public health advisory due to elevated bacteria levels in ocean water last year, Fox News Digital reported.

In Florida, the Department of Health in Miami-Dade County (DOH Miami-Dade) just released a water-quality advisory for Crandon Park North in Key Biscayne because levels of fecal-related bacteria exceeds levels established by the state.

DOH Miami-Dade advised against any water-related activities at the beach "due to an increased risk of illness in swimmers."

The State of Washington Department of Ecology advises people avoid contact with fresh or marine water for at least 24 hours after heavy rainfall as well as with pipes or streams that drain directly to the beach.
